Villa Zenith by Salagnac Arquitectos
Villa Zenith sits above the coastline in Las Huacas, Nosara, Costa Rica, as a house by Salagnac Arquitectos shaped for ocean views and breeze. The plan divides generous social rooms and terraces from six quiet bedrooms, opening living areas to an infinity pool and an outdoor BBQ while keeping private quarters calm. Clean lines, light tones, and natural textures anchor the indoor–outdoor rhythm.

The hill catches a steady breeze. From the drive, the house steps forward in pale planes and deep shade, pulling the eye toward a bright line of ocean. Terraces cantilever lightly toward the slope.
This is a house in Nosara, Costa Rica. Salagnac Arquitectos organizes Villa Zenith around light, prevailing winds, and views, so daily life toggles between covered terraces, open rooms, and the horizon. Everything centers on climate.
Open The Rooms
The social volume rises to a one-and-a-half–height ceiling, its tall apertures sliding aside to dissolve the edge between interior and terrace. It welcomes air. Across this front, broad terraces align with an infinity pool, creating a continuous outdoor living room: shaded during midday, luminous as evening cools. Furniture sits low to keep the sightline clear, so conversations carry across the water while the horizon holds steady at eye level.
Catch The Breeze
Orientation sets the tone, with openings sized and placed to draw cross ventilation through gathering areas and into the deeper corners. The air moves. Ceiling fans and deep overhangs temper the tropical sun — a measured layer of comfort that keeps glass doors wide without glare or heat buildup. Louvers and operable panels tune exposure when storms push through, keeping rooms fresh without losing the steady rhythm of outdoor life.
Shade And Shelter
Light tones and natural textures keep the rooms bright, so floors and walls reflect rather than absorb the glare of afternoon. Shadows do the rest. Built-in seating, the outdoor BBQ, and a run of steps down to the pool choreograph daily pauses, from coffee at dawn to long, unhurried swims. Terraces extend the day without retreating inside, holding meals, reading, and conversation as the sky shifts from hard blue to soft gray.
Private Rooms Above
Six bedrooms stack across two levels on the quieter side, buffered from the social zone yet always oriented toward vegetation and sky. Privacy stays intact. Windows collect cross breezes at night, and the walk between rooms passes light courts and planted edges, keeping a calm rhythm even when the house is full. Storage and baths tuck into the thicker wall, leaving windows open and views unbroken through morning and dusk.
By evening, the terraces cool and the pool mirrors the last color left on the water beyond. Everything slows. That daily swing between shade, air, and view defines the house, a quiet framework tuned to place and to the rituals of coastal life.
