About Concrete Harmony House

Morning light slides across the concrete wall and low grey sofa before reaching the deep blue lounge chairs near the glass. Outside, a timber pergola draws the eye toward the green hedged yard and folds the terrace into the interior living area.

This is a private house in Shilat by Narkis Rubin Barazani, conceived as a contemporary family setting organized around one continuous living level. The project leans on concrete, timber, and saturated upholstery to form a clear interior palette that connects living, dining, kitchen, and terrace. Every room speaks the same visual language, yet each one sharpens a different mood through color, texture, and light.

Color Anchors The Living Room

A long modular sofa in layered greys anchors the main living area, set against a board-marked concrete wall with a regular grid of tie points. Two sculptural lounge chairs in vivid blue sit opposite, their curved forms softening the linear planes and drawing attention toward the garden. A low pair of coffee tables and a distressed monochrome rug hold the center, leaving circulation clear along the glass facade that opens to the terrace. Built-in storage under the television remains quiet in tone so the artwork, plants, and upholstery carry most of the visual energy.

Dining And Art In Dialogue

Beyond the sofa, a dark dining table aligns with the kitchen island, extending a single horizontal line of black surfaces from cooking to gathering. Leather-upholstered chairs in a warm rust color introduce a counterpoint to the cooler greys, while a tall abstract painting in turquoise and amber pulls the eye upward. Overhead, a sculptural pendant with a cage-like frame throws a delicate shadow pattern at night yet stays visually transparent during the day. The effect keeps the room grounded while letting the art, floral arrangements, and distant garden read clearly from every seat.

Kitchen As Social Core

The kitchen leans into a monochrome black palette, with full-height cabinetry, integrated appliances, and a broad island that doubles as an informal dining surface. Bar stools repeat the rust tone from the main dining area, tying the two zones together and signaling that this is as much a social hub as a working kitchen. A wide horizontal window over the counter frames greenery and admits even light, softening the dark joinery and giving the cook a constant visual link to the outdoors.

Private Rooms With Soft Edges

In the children’s room, built-in cabinetry and a bunk bed use crisp white fronts and warm timber accents to keep the small footprint organized. Planet-patterned wallpaper, a knitted rug, and plush toys introduce playful color without clutter, while a single desk and chair sit calmly under the window for homework. The main bedroom shifts to a quieter register with a blue accent wall, pale bedding, and herringbone wood flooring that catches light in narrow bands. Sheer curtains filter daylight across mirrored wardrobes, so the room feels bright yet controlled throughout the day.

Concrete And Garden On The Terrace

On the terrace, a timber pergola casts striped shadows across pale flooring and outdoor seating in muted tones. Low tables in soft green and gray hold plants and drinks, echoing the colors inside while keeping the garden as the dominant backdrop. A continuation of the concrete wall from the living room reinforces the connection between interior and exterior, with climbing greenery softening its surface and adding movement when the wind rises.

As the day turns, light tracks from the kitchen window to the terrace edge, knitting rooms together through shifting reflections on concrete and glass. Furnishings and color keep that sequence legible, guiding family life from cooking to lounging to outdoor evenings without losing coherence. The house reads as one calm interior, tuned carefully through texture and hue rather than constant structural drama.
