Warm light slides across pale floors as it moves from the stone terrace into La Marea’s open living rooms. Exposed beams pull the eye upward, while low, generous sofas anchor daily life near the windows.

This country house in Magliano in Toscana is shaped as a relaxed retreat, with interiors by Special Italy – Special Umbria that lean into comfort and clarity. The project frames long views of vineyard hills, yet the focus inside stays on color, texture, and the way people gather. Every room reads as a calm setting for conversation or quiet, tuned by a precise mix of neutral surfaces and saturated accents.

Living Rooms With Volume

The main living area stretches beneath high, white-painted trusses, creating an airy volume where conversation zones sit side by side. A sand-colored sectional defines one end, facing a central fireplace wall lined with low cabinetry and open metal-framed shelving that holds ceramics, books, and woven baskets. Nearby, a second grouping of mint and teal chairs gathers around compact timber tables, oriented toward black-framed windows that catch the countryside in every direction. Large potted plants soften corners and bring a leafy vertical rhythm against the pale envelope.

Warm Kitchen And Dining

Just beyond the sofas, the kitchen and dining zone share the same continuous floor, so movement between cooking and long meals feels easy. A pale timber island with fluted fronts pairs with slim, dark stools, while a tall glass-fronted cabinet in a rich copper tone glows like a lantern at the back. The adjacent dining table is long and lean, surrounded by simple wooden chairs and lit by a large pendant that drops into the visual center of the room. Soft neutrals set the base, letting food, tableware, and greenery carry the color during gatherings.

Bedrooms In Color Blocks

Private rooms continue the calm shell yet introduce bolder patterns right where the body rests. One bedroom revolves around a graphic green headboard, its woven checks playing against crisp white bedding and smooth, light wardrobes that stand as freestanding volumes. Another room trades green for a blue patterned headboard edged in a fine red line, flanked by slender black wall-mounted lamps and deep-toned side tables. Large glazing keeps each room bright during the day, so textiles and timber read clearly without feeling heavy.

Playful Baths And Outdoor Life

In the bathrooms, translucent blue tubs sit directly beside tall windows, with the lawn and trees just beyond the glass. The color feels almost aquatic, turning everyday rituals into a small moment of spectacle against white walls and flooring. Outside, stone facades wrap intimate courtyards and a long dining table stretches under dappled shade, set for extended meals. Below, a terraced pool deck lines up loungers and umbrellas along the water, tying the house’s restrained interior palette to the wider Tuscan terrain.

As the day moves from bright sun to softer evening light, La Marea’s rooms keep their gentle glow. Neutral planes, measured color, and comfortable furniture let the surrounding fields stay present without overpowering the interior life. The house reads as a quiet frame for long stays, where each corner has a clear purpose and a distinct material mood.
