About Nancy’s Apartment
Innovative Design for Urban Living
Studio In2 took cues from “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” to craft expansive visuals within a compact 66-square-meter (710-square-foot) Taipei apartment. They created an elegant space for a dynamic young couple.
Creating Grandeur in Small Spaces
Challenged by the modest size, the designers used oversized features—large doors and frames—to give the illusion of more space.
They opened up the apartment, using a multifunctional shoe cabinet to define the living and dining areas. Large sliding doors now brighten the kitchen, while a stylish beam doubles as lighting, enhancing the dining space. White finishes on lower ceilings make the areas feel more expansive, and different textures give the white space depth, making large furniture seem lighter.
A Mezzanine Made Airy
The second floor’s renovation introduced a suspended walkway, adding flow and connection. Despite the low ceiling, the design maintains an airy, pressure-free atmosphere, proving that careful design can turn small spaces into comfortable, inviting homes.
