Picture a trendy couple, a bubbly two-year-old, and a 120-square-meter (1,291-square-foot) apartment in Sao Paulo’s Pinheiros. Their big debate? To have a balcony barbecue or not. Their meeting with architect Beatriz Quinelato revealed their challenge: he was adamant about the porch barbecue, while she preferred it out of sight when not in use.
An Ingenious Solution
Enter the retractable blue panel—a solution that pleased everyone. What followed were requests for a cozy, integrated space to entertain friends.
Intertwining Heritage and Design
The home needed spots for his guitars and a special place for a painting by Orlando Marcucci, a student of Alfredo Volpi. This cherished piece found its home behind the sofa.

The private areas, too, received vibrant touches, with lively joinery in the master bedroom and colorful details in their daughter’s room. Colors and vitality abound!
