Description
Villa AZ is a private residence designed by MMA Projects on the exclusive Palm Jumeirah, one of the three artificial islands built off the coast of the United Arab Emirates.
With a sophisticated and essential elegance, Villa AZ stands out for its simple lines with references to the Arab style. The exteriors have been cleaned of excessive decorations and redundant elements, opting for a few high-quality materials.
As a tribute to Arab culture and to be consistent with the context in which the villa stands, some elements in bronzed metal have been added. The delicate geometric designs of the panels that adorn the façade are reminiscent of the mashrabiyya, a natural forced ventilation mechanism typical of the architecture of Arab countries.
The grids, originally made up of inlaid wooden elements and assembled according to a complex pattern, decorate windows, loggias and balconies, giving light, identity and mystery to the entire home.
On the outside, the project has redefined the landscape, equipping it with natural wood flooring and new tree species.
For the interiors, with contemporary lines, precious marbles and natural woods have been chosen for floors, walls and coverings, refined fabrics and high-quality leather for the boiserie. In addition, Arabic-style bronze inserts and decorations enrich and give warmth to the environment. The Synua armored door by Oikos Venezia was chosen for the main entrance. Selected in the elegant black glass finish. Thanks to the refined profiles and the bronze sector that recall the metal of the mashrabiyya, it harmoniously fits into the facade, helping to capture the sunlight and reflect it in its warmest and softest tones.
