Unique Charm of Madrid’s FEC Apartment: A Transformation by Febrero Studio
A new modern apartment in Madrid, Spain, designed by Febrero Studio, has been revealed this year. Located in the Chamberi neighborhood, the FEC Apartment was completely demolished, maintaining only the original structure of concrete pillars. As part of the renovation, Febrero Studio designed a central wooden module to bring order to the area and expand the living area. The wood was used to enhance the volume and the shape of the pavement. Hydraulic tile was kept throughout the house, due to the type and time of construction, giving the apartment unique charm.

This Madrid apartment in the Chamberí neighborhood underwent a complete renovation, maintaining only the original concrete pillars. To bring structure to the area with the most misalignment, a central module was installed. This wooden module served as a furniture piece, expanding the living area by housing the sofa, concealing access doors, separating the kitchen and living room, and forming the sink of the master bathroom.
Materials Used to Enhance Volume
To emphasize the module’s volume, wood was used throughout the house. Additionally, the hydraulic tile floor was preserved due to its type and time of construction, even though it needed to be changed due to its poor condition.
