About Outdoor Edge Living
Exploring Outdoor Edge Living in Ios
Outdoor Edge Living, located in the Cyclades, graces the picturesque island of Ios. This island, named either after the vibrant Ia flowers or the Phoenician word for ‘stone pile’, is home to the Ios Grand Pool Suites. These suites, comprising twelve luxurious units with private pools, overlook the renowned Mylopotas Beach. Adjacent to this, a village, steeped in classic Cycladic architecture, offers a visually stunning backdrop. Furthermore, the property’s steep slope provides uninterrupted views of the Aegean Sea.
Seamless Integration with the Natural Landscape
Strategically placed, the suites maximize natural light and views, allowing guests to indulge in the calm sea and captivating sunsets. Additionally, the property’s design features narrow openings and orthogonal volumes, showcasing local stone and white plaster. The external walkway, inspired by the island’s cobblestones, invites exploration and discovery.
Blending Indoors with Outdoors
Spanning two levels, the suites are accessible via traditional wooden patio doors. These doors open to private courtyards, effectively blurring the lines between inside and outside living spaces. Moreover, each outdoor area is designed to mirror its interior counterpart, promoting a harmonious living experience. Inside, the suites draw inspiration from the rigidity and fluidity of Cycladic architecture, fostering a modern yet intimate setting.
In the reception area, guests are greeted by a minimalist and contemporary environment, enriched with elements of local art. Here, special flooring and arches subtly enhance the overall design. The use of light, shadow, and contrasting white tones creates a tranquil and private atmosphere. Lastly, the interiors blend Cycladic cultural influences with modern materials such as metal, contemporary lighting, and glass, all while maintaining utmost respect for the local aesthetic. This thoughtful combination of materials, including local stone and Naxos marble, ensures a luxurious, culturally immersive experience.
