Villa Juss stands as a beacon of modern architecture in Turkey. This stunning residence covers a vast 3500 m² (37,674 ft²) plot filled with lush Mediterranean gardens. Designed by Başak Akkoyunlu Design in 2020, Villa Juss integrates local materials and innovative design principles to create a unique living environment.
The house is skillfully built on a steep terrain, leveled with white ‘Alaçatı’ stone, reflecting local tradition. The use of black stones introduces contrast, harmonizing the new design with the area’s historical context. The thoughtful positioning of the building at a 15° angle optimizes views of the Mediterranean Sea while maintaining a connection with the surrounding landscape.
Villa Juss boasts three levels that extend gracefully into the landscape, featuring two distinct masses linked by a concrete courtyard. This outdoor area, adorned with a jacaranda tree, provides a tranquil spot for families to unwind. The living space, situated on the middle floor, is defined by a pitched roof and guillotine windows that fully open, merging indoor and outdoor experiences seamlessly.
The villa ingeniously incorporates sustainable features, including herb and spice gardens, an infinity pool, and an outdoor kitchenette. Design elements, such as a compost pool, emphasize a commitment to sustainability, enhancing the outdoor lifestyle in this Mediterranean climate.
