Completed in 2023 by Dutch designer Jeroen de Nijs, Villa in the Park is a house located in Alkmaar, Netherlands. The impressive residence features an open-plan layout with an entrance leading to a mezzanine floor as the family’s main living area and was designed with just two materials – wood and microcement – to create an almost Mediterranean atmosphere.
Surprising A Warm Design
Jeroen de Nijs and his team created a surprising and warm design for a complete building project in Alkmaar, and the result is a feast for the eye. The exterior, the interior and the garden enhance each other beautifully and let the residence blend in naturally with the adjacent park. Jeroen took the confidence he received from the clients to heart and exceeded their high expectactions. The result: a unique villa that seems to wink at you, draws you in with a warm embrace and never lets you go. Sexy vibes that enrapture.
Almost Mediterranean Atmosphere
The open-plan character, the warm sunlight streaming in through the large windows, the greenery inside and outside the house, and of course, the swimming pool in the garden – everything instils that delightful holiday vibe.
Extensive Construction Process
The impressive residence is the result of an extensive construction process that started with tearing down the original and dated house. Jeroen then designed a spacious family home with sophisticated custom-made elements and vintage furniture and accessories. By using just two types of materials – wood and microcement – he managed to create an almost Mediterranean atmosphere.
The Heart of the Home
The entrance at the carport on the side of the house leads to the heart of the home: the mezzanine floor, which paints a stunningly spacious effect and serves as the family’s main living area where they cook, eat, and enjoy life.
Eye-Catchers on the First Floor
The first sightline from the kitchen offers views of the intimate and cosy lounge area. The second sightline has the residents look out onto the living room with a fireplace towards the recessed seating area and the swimming pool in the garden.
One of the great eye-catchers on the first floor is the free-standing bath in the large bedroom, which feels homey despite its generous size. Surrounded by tall trees, you really feel one with nature. Taking a bath has never been this relaxing.
The Perfect Space to Unwind
The garden, also designed by Jeroen and his team, offers the residents the perfect space to unwind in and around the swimming pool and is the luxurious icing on the cake. Natural living in a park: the ultimate home for the client and his family. Forget about Ibiza, Mykonos, and Marbella – this residence is the epitome of enrapturing holiday vibes.
