An’s Sai Gon by QBA architects
An’s Sai Gon brings a multi-use wellness and dining address to Vietnam under the direction of QBA architects. Set in Thao Dien, the project folds café life, restaurant service, spa rituals, and offices into one renovated compound. A tropical canopy, soft furnishings, and filtered light set the tone. Guests move from morning coffee to evening treatments with an easy rhythm that keeps the whole place humming.

Late morning light filters through timber slats and washes a long white bar. Palm fronds brush the air while wicker pendants hang still above stone pavers.
This multi-functional compound in Thao Dien brings restaurant, café, spa, and workrooms together under one renovation led by QBA architects. The palette ties the program into a continuous experience: tropical planting, warm woods, and soft neutrals cue a relaxed cadence from entry to treatment room.
Filter The Light
Overhead, a slatted roof moderates Vietnam’s sun and sends tidy stripes across the floor. White steel framing keeps sightlines open, so greenery reads as a living backdrop for every table. Woven shades and ceiling fans add a quiet draft without clutter. The result is bright yet tempered daylight that lasts through lunch.
Cafe As Heart
At center stands a crisp bar fronted by a slim timber counter resting on rough stone blocks. Baristas work against a wall of palms, and the hum of grinders blends with low conversation. Seating mixes rattan chairs and long upholstered banquettes with lean cushions, inviting lingering over coffee or an early plate. Cool stone pavers keep the room grounded and durable.
Dining In Green
Tables line a planted edge where dense tropical leaves meet a pale render. Candle lamps dot tabletops, giving dinner a soft flicker as daylight fades. The furniture keeps to light woods and natural fibers, letting the garden set the mood. It feels convivial, not loud.
Spa Rooms Compose Calm
Upstairs, the palette warms to sand-toned plaster and herringbone wood floors. Linen curtains part to create private nooks, while built-in shelves glow with restrained LED strips. Twin massage tables sit low and sturdy; nearby, a small desk and bench in pale timber support quiet rituals. Even the vanity continues the language—matte fixtures, an integrated basin, and a modest plant bring a gentle domestic note.
Materials Carry Through
Across the program, continuity matters more than spectacle. Timber, rattan, and plaster repeat in measured ways, so the transition from espresso to exfoliation feels natural. The renovation keeps the bones pragmatic, but finishes draw the eye and hand. Guests register texture first, then calm.
By late afternoon, shadows from the slats stretch across the pavers and slip under chairs. The plants deepen in color as the pendants warm, and the bar softens to a glow. An’s Sai Gon closes the loop with material ease and steady light, letting the day taper without rush.
