Centara Korat Redefines a Hotel Stay with Warm Local Materials
Centara Korat is a lifestyle hotel in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, by Vaslab Architecture. Designed for families and business travelers, it focuses on the guest journey from arrival to checkout. Warm earth tones, local materials, and durable finishes shape an intimate atmosphere, while rooftop views and compact room details keep the experience grounded in place.

About Centara Korat
Centara Korat positions itself as a lifestyle hotel that focuses on the staying experience rather than the luxury hotels usually promise. Aiming at families and business travelers, the project treats the full guest journey as the core idea, from the moment visitors enter to the moment they leave.
Warm earth tones and local materials help set an intimate tone throughout the hotel. The design also relies on substitute materials chosen for durability and easier maintenance, including sandstone-colored wall finishes, wood used as a decorative element, and rammed earth walls and a check-in counter that reference Dan Kwian earth.
The plan keeps common areas at a human scale, so the hotel never feels imposing. A 360-degree rooftop zone and poolside cabana seats give guests a place to relax while taking in a view of Korat, and the rooms continue that approach with window nook sofas that can convert into extra beds.
Warm colors, patterned pillows, and the shape of the headboards bring vernacular references into the interiors without overplaying them. Across the façade, window frames, and rooftop profile, the composition introduces a sense of rhythm and liveliness while staying tied to local materials and the everyday comfort of the stay.
