Welcome to Casa Pilará, a two-story residence located in a country club a few minutes from Pilar, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Designed by Besonías Almeida Arquitectos in 2021 and built on an irregularly shaped corner lot with a gentle elevation, this concrete residence offers a unique blend of classic typology and complex spatiality.

Its outdoor spaces, planted with young species of catalpas and maples, are designed to create a landscape in total harmony with the natural landscape of the pampas plains.

Designed to be thoughtfully integrated into the agrarian landscape of Westchester County, the family home is a collection of new and existing buildings, gathered at the narrow, northwest side of an 8.7 acre triangular lot. The project, which was completed in 2022, showcases Worrell Yeung’s interest in expressing architectural volume through a simplification of the elements while echoing and updating the agrarian vernacular.

Its exterior palette is understated, yet textural and offers a connection to the lake and the neighborhood. Further into the site, terraced gardens transition from the street to the lake and invite pauses at each level. Inside, the home is light and airy, with white walls and black-gridded windows, while the homeowner’s art collections create a unique atmosphere. The general contractor admired the design team’s insistence on quality control throughout construction.

The house has several entertainment zones, including a family cum theatre space planned at the Terrace level.
