Visitors are greeted by an impressive entrance plaza, almost like entering the hull of a ship. Inside, the living floor reveals a stunning view of the wild nature reserve, while the kitchen and dining area are bathed in natural light. The master bedroom is a dramatic mix of powerful colors and textures, with a built-in sink and a wall covered in natural stone.

Cloistered Home is an extraordinary single-story house in the heart of Israel, designed and built by architects Dan and Hila Israelevitz.

This property is unique in its own right, situated on two acres of land and spanning 500 square meters. The Israelevitz’ used concrete as the main material to create a home that perfectly synchronizes with nature and sunlight while utilizing the rising and setting sun for its inhabitants.

The exterior of the house features a glass wall and exposed concrete, while the interior is composed of bespoke carpentry, wooden cladding walls, and the expansive inner garden. To top it all off, the property offers an enormous double swimming pool for entertainment and relaxation.

With custom sourced stone from Europe and natural, timeless finishes, the home flows from the kitchen and family room out to the terrace overlooking the Waitemata Harbour, with a spiral staircase leading to a rooftop outdoor entertaining area with a fireplace and hot tub.

The same dark wood framing language is present in the hallway and room divider, and emphasizes the presence of strong colors in the night area. The dressing room contrasts with the white of the bed area and the salmon-colored bathroom creates an inviting atmosphere.

The partition between the sleeping area and the parents’ bathroom was made by means of glass walls that, by means of a switch, make the windows opaque for maximum privacy.

Introducing Anna Maria Sokolowska Interior Design’s latest project, “The Architect’s Private House“. Located in Rumia, Poland, this conversion and extension of a farm building from 1940 is an oasis of peace and tranquility, surrounded by greenery and old fruit trees.

Anna Maria designed the interiors to be simple, minimalist and yet give a sense of warmth and a calming feeling. Natural wood repainted white and green colour accents make the property more appealing. The interior features a reinforced concrete ceiling, natural oak wood on the floor, open prefabricated truss in the upstairs bedrooms, and a combination of white, grey, black and natural oak wood. Additionally, the house has an open area with a seating area, dining area and open kitchen, a pantry, a utility locker, and a staircase with double the height. The bedroom has a continental bed, suspended bedside tables, wardrobe with two colour finishes, and an internal private bathroom with a bath and two sinks. This project was a challenge by itself, but Anna Maria managed it as an architect, investor, manager and interior designer.

The living area has been opened up to flood it with natural light, and the staircase has been “rediscovered” and emphasized. Artwork pervades every room and merges with the architecture itself while the kitchen, dining room and entrance are in visual communication. On the upper floor, a study space, a guest bedroom and a bathroom overlook the marvelous Roman roofs.
