Nestled in the landmarked district of SoHo, New York, 49 Greene Street, a 6-story building built in 1886 by HJ. Howard, is an extant example of the mixed iron-and-masonry construction of the post-Civil war period. DXA Studio began work on the building in 2015, converting the interiors into three full-floor condominium units and a triplex Penthouse unit with a rooftop addition and private roof deck.
Our design process began like most of our other projects – studying the history of the area and the building itself – and we wanted to speak to SoHo’s past and the various movements that lent themselves to the creation of the area’s unique character and charm.

Introducing Anna Maria Sokolowska Interior Design’s latest project, “The Architect’s Private House“. Located in Rumia, Poland, this conversion and extension of a farm building from 1940 is an oasis of peace and tranquility, surrounded by greenery and old fruit trees.
Anna Maria designed the interiors to be simple, minimalist and yet give a sense of warmth and a calming feeling. Natural wood repainted white and green colour accents make the property more appealing. The interior features a reinforced concrete ceiling, natural oak wood on the floor, open prefabricated truss in the upstairs bedrooms, and a combination of white, grey, black and natural oak wood. Additionally, the house has an open area with a seating area, dining area and open kitchen, a pantry, a utility locker, and a staircase with double the height. The bedroom has a continental bed, suspended bedside tables, wardrobe with two colour finishes, and an internal private bathroom with a bath and two sinks. This project was a challenge by itself, but Anna Maria managed it as an architect, investor, manager and interior designer.

The interior features unique artifacts from Ukrainian artists, dynamic barstools that move through an underground tunnel, and more, making Ostannya Barykada Lviv a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the culture and history of Lviv.
Tucked away in the remote Lyngen Alps in Norway lies Aurora Lodge – a modern retreat designed by Stinessen Arkitektur in 2021.
With respect for and close connection to nature, the design of this project endeavors to complement the site, with the main building stretching out across the natural plateau and high ceilings and seamless glass walls inviting the sky and landscape into the building. Its outer cladding is made from Nordic Green copper and the inside is clad in silver-fir, with a hard brushed surface, softening the feel of the high ceilings. Along the path to the main house, a separate annex/suite follows the same design approach, and across the creek, the sauna sits as a separate building with its interior all focused on the view towards the sea.
Discover The Parchis House, a stunning loft located in Valencia, Spain. This industrial-style project was designed by Estudi La Caseta in 2022 and stands out for its versatility and vitality.
The highlight of the project is the staircase recovered from a previous project, which allowed for a bunk-style mezzanine with high cupboards to be created. Special mention must be made of the carpenter and blacksmith whose expertise allowed the ideas to be perfectly executed.
