The upper level has been designed to be visually open to the outdoors, with a ribbon-window design giving unobstructed views of the landscape, and balconies allowing natural air to flow through the home. A stone entry volume buffers the opening living area from the street level, while the kitchen has expansive views of the rolling hills and a curated view of the front yard. Natural light is able to reflect over the stone volume, eliminating the need for any artificial lighting. Finally, the exterior of the home is cloaked in black metal panels and cedar wood soffits, providing a stunning view from the street.

As you enter the property, you will be greeted with three distinct volumes—a soft vertical timber-lined box with a hidden garage door, a hard tiled roof and wall, and a sculptural Corten steel portal. Passing through the portal, you are welcomed to a clean, pure, and unoccupied gallery space.

Large glazed surfaces open up to a series of pocket gardens that allow for ample natural daylight and cross ventilation to the interiors. The use of passive cooling methods optimizes the building’s performance and prevents extensive use of mechanical air conditioning. 181Chambers@Semantan also incorporates a variety of ‘breakaway’ spaces such as indoor ‘lounges’, outdoor spaces, private meeting rooms, a café/bar, two pantries with terraces, and a roof-terrace for functions and events. Lastly, the interiors feature custom-made, prefabricated polished concrete plates and woodworks, artworks and furniture designed and selected by Studio Supereka, further expressing the ideas of values and solidity inherent to the firm.
Sun House is a beautiful house located in Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam – renowned for its pristine beaches and stunning coastline. It was designed by Space+ Architecture in 2022, with contemporary and minimalist design style.
Sun House offers an economical but luxurious living space that blends modern architecture with traditional tropical Vietnamese architectural elements. The undulating sloping roof shape of the house harmonizes with the traditional roofs of neighbouring houses and helps to drain rain water faster. Inside the house, natural ventilation, lighting and recycled materials help reduce energy costs while still providing a cozy atmosphere for family members who have reunited from afar.
