Weald House, designed by Mailen Design and Peter Bradford Architects in 2023, is nestled in Kent’s verdant landscape. This single-story house harmonizes with its surroundings by adopting local vernacular architecture.

The contemporary design, characterised by black cladding and a pitched zinc roof, reflects the architecture of historic local farm buildings. Prioritising natural vistas, Weald House incorporates large windows and a refined material palette, connecting interior spaces with the outdoors and optimising energy efficiency.

R79 has designed Casita Pegados, a home in Mérida, Mexico, with a focus on blurring the line between interior and exterior spaces. Completed in 2024, the 1,000-square-metre house features a simple distribution plan, with service areas on the west, social areas facing the south garden, and private areas facing north and south. The design incorporates a variety of materials and colours, including white, beige, cream, and brown tones, with an emphasis on greenery and natural elements.

Conceptualized in 2024, the house features a linear structure with clean lines and geometric volumes, harmoniously integrated into its sloping plot. The design emphasizes panoramic sea views through a series of frames, with the main residence and guest houses strategically placed to maximize functionality and scenery.

Conundrum Creek Residence is located along the Conundrum Springs trailhead in Aspen, Colorado. Designed by Boulder-based Studio B Architecture + Interiors, the design creates a seamless connection with the environment. It is conditioned by local zoning and an inverted topographical site plan with views of nearby peaks. The home’s transparency encourages an interaction between the indoors and outdoors, while a covered patio connects the two wings to the home, enhancing indoor–outdoor living experiences with views that frame the Colorado wilderness.
