Brekkuskógur Cottages were designed in 2012 by Arkibullan Architects for the BHM Icelandic Academic Association. They’re  situated only 90 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik in a middle of a sloping lava field overgrown with arctic beech shrubs.

This historic house located in the city of Montonate, Italy, was completely redesigned by Giampaolo Benedini of Benedini & Partners back in 2009. As you may see, everything except the ceiling and windows was modernized.
