In Malibu (California) there is a beautiful cave house created by the inspiration of the comedy cartoon series The Flintstones. Legendary American television host Dick Clark and his wife decided to sell their house in Malibu for $ 3.5 million. The unusual structure built in the “cave” style based on the “Flintstones” away from the noise of the city. Designers have tried to fit the structure into the surrounding landscape, which should complement it organically.

The HemLoft is a self-funded secret creation that I built on crown land in Whistler, Canada. It hangs on a precipitous slope, in a towering stand of hemlocks, about a five minute walk from the nearest road. When I started building it, I was just a fledgling carpenter, living out of my car. Building an experimental orb deep in the woods, with no electrical power, isn’t the recommended way to ease yourself into carpentry. However, I was armed with a couple of the most powerful tools a carpenter can have: blind naiveté and supreme determination.

Sydney-based studio Christopher Polly Architect has designed the Elliott Ripper House. Completed in 2011, this 1,703 square foot, two storey contemporary home is located in Rozelle, a suburb in the inner west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.
Featuring five bedrooms and four bathrooms, this architecturally-designed home also boasts a state of the art theatre room which is perfect for entertaining and relaxation, and a stunning indoor swimming pool with a diving platform and swimming jet system. The superb open style entertainers kitchen and dining area are complimented by an adjacent butlers pantry, while the living area is positioned to maximise the spectacular views beyond.
