Luminaire is a fresh expression of bold contemporary architecture, employing simple building forms and bold colors to create a Meditteranean style village. The plans epitomize the indoor/outdoor style of living prevalent in the desert and many of the homes come with covered outdoor patios and private courtyards.
The challenge was to create a plan that lives as a one story, but options to a two story with the addition of a stair. Outdoor casitas and private courtyard pools are added to better enjoy the desert lifestyle. Higher ceilings with clearstory windows are included for privacy and to create dynamic indoor spaces.
