About Knot House

Sculpted Seascapes: The Knot House of Geoje Island

On Geoje Island, five sculptural buildings rise, each offering a secluded view of the ocean against a backdrop of towering pines.

The Knot House serves dual purposes: a clubhouse on the ground and the owner’s private quarters above. Bordering the clubhouse, an infinity pool mirrors the sea. Nearby, four homes house six guestrooms, artfully placed to ensure both ocean views and privacy.

Atelier Chang’s clever design staggers each house by 40 degrees, allowing every guest an unobstructed view and a personal oasis.

Design that Embraces the Landscape

The buildings’ design features variable folds, creating windows where the ocean calls and privacy where needed. In certain spots, the design opens up, merging bath time with the garden and sea.

The initial question was how to blend the outdoor environment with indoor comfort. The solution: a landscape that flows into terraces, then inside, as a continuous, unfolding garden.

Versatile Living: From Resort to Residence

Clients can choose from three design ‘knots,’ tailoring their space to personal or hospitality needs. These versatile structures can transition from income-generating rentals to private homes, reflecting the project’s enduring design.
