Revitalizing a Classic: Modernizing a 1950s Athens Apartment
Situated near the heart of Athens and the iconic Kallimarmaro Stadium, this apartment spans 700 square feet (65 sq. m) and dates back to the 1950s.
Redefining Space for Contemporary Living
The redesign aims to meet modern living standards, particularly for its new role as an AirBnB. The plan reduces corridors, combines daily living spaces, and adds bedrooms. The old kitchen and living areas make way for a new kitchen-dining area, a master bedroom with an en-suite, a guest bathroom, plus laundry and storage areas. Original bedrooms remain untouched but refreshed.
Elevating Aesthetics with Detail and Texture
In pursuit of elegance, the design emphasizes materials and lighting. Three-dimensional tiles and concealed lights add warmth to bedrooms. Marble tiles and linear lights infuse bathrooms with a luxurious feel, while the kitchen and dining spaces embrace calm with smooth lines and soft hues.
Adaptive lighting enhances the ambiance and user experience. Energy-efficient upgrades include smart home features, new windows, centralized electrical controls, and advanced security, ensuring comfort and reduced energy use.
The result is a space that marries the charm of old Athens with the luxury of a modern hotel, fulfilling the owner’s vision.
