About Bohrs Tower
Bohr’s Tower: Carlsberg’s Sky-High Beacon
Standing tall in UCC Campus Carlsberg, Bohr’s Tower serves as a landmark for the area’s southern part. As part of the Carlsberg City District’s urban plan, this area boasts plans for nine towers. Completed in 2016, the 22-story Bohr’s Tower houses 88 homes. Moreover, it proudly claims the title as Copenhagen’s first structure to soar 100 meters (328 feet) high.
A Nod to a Nobel Laureate and Architectural Excellence
Named after Niels Bohr, the esteemed Danish physicist and Nobel Prize winner, this tower’s design resonates with simplicity. This architectural choice ensures the tower harmonizes with its broader surroundings. Living rooms sit strategically in the tower’s corners, boasting the widest windows. For the daring, these windows slide open. As the windows move towards the center, they narrow. This design not only offers a sleek look but also minimizes heat loss. Cladding the facade, bronze-anodized wavy aluminum panels, perforated in design, dance with shifting daylight and seasons. The earthy brown hue pays tribute to the historic buildings in the nearby Carlsberg City District.
