About Mayfair by the Sea II
The Essence of Minimalism
The design intent was to shun unnecessary forms and design elements, opting instead for basic lines and shapes that celebrate the elegance of minimalism. A portal frame was specifically crafted for the lounge area to disrupt the elongated, rectangular scheme of the combined living and dining area.
Revamping Bedroom Spaces
The original design of three separate bedrooms underwent a transformation. The walls were partially removed, cleverly reorganizing the space into one expansive master bedroom, complete with a walk-in closet and a storeroom.
Utilizing Vertical Space
Taking full advantage of the apartment’s high ceilings, the designers ingeniously included raised platforms in the bedroom and storeroom. This creative solution minimized the necessity for additional visible storage space.
A Palette of Simplicity and Nature
The materials chosen for this design project are both simple and natural. The designers handpicked imported oak flooring for its captivating raw wood grain, contributing to the home’s organic appeal.
Finishing Touches for Consistency
To ensure the perfect blend with the flooring, various veneer finishes were trialed for the portal frame. This same veneer finish was replicated in the apartment’s furniture, promoting a consistent aesthetic throughout the home.
Bathroom Harmony and Bedroom Serenity
Light terrazzo was the material of choice for the bathroom, its natural quality helping to unify the bathroom’s atmosphere with the rest of the home. In the master bedroom, the simple structure of the headboard and the cantilevered bed platform deliver a potent statement of comfort and tranquility.
