Nestled in the heart of Kyiv, Ukraine, the Emerald Villa stands as a testament to the power of bold, innovative interior design. This quaint abode marries the audacious hues typical of British interiors with the intricate moldings and symmetrical high ceilings characteristic of French style. The result? A home that speaks volumes about the art of design.
A Fusion of Colors and Cultures
The Emerald Villa, a one-bedroom marvel, bursts with a vibrant mix of colors and a zest for life. The design team at Bolshakova Interiors drew inspiration from the client’s lively personality, opting for a subdued color palette punctuated by deeper tonal variations. The traditional architectural detailing, paired with a modern tint application, gives the interior a light, elegant feel, while maintaining a sense of bold excitement.
The Art of Balance
Nataly Bolshakova, the lead designer, likens the space to a radiant painting. “The bright background demands balance with intense, vivid strokes. Our biggest challenge was integrating the eclectic private collection of art and family objects,” she shares.

The kitchen, seamlessly connected to the living room and dining area, serves as a focal point of the villa. It breaks the mold of traditional kitchen design, blending functionality with the casual ambiance of a cocktail bar.
A Living Room of Contrasts
Drawing from both English and French styles, the living room is a cozy yet surprising space. The bold color palette, featuring pops of red, pink, and yellow, captures the celebrated English character. Meanwhile, the intricate moldings and symmetrical high ceilings encapsulate a quintessentially French style.
Statement Pieces and Accents
The living room is adorned with a red sofa from Wales and Brabbu textiles Adamo & Eva, Dedar, creating a striking accent. A floral carpet by Moooi draws the eye to the center of the room, grounding the entire setup. The custom-made marble fireplace, in a riveting shade of emerald, adds a touch of drama with its natural fluid patterns.

In contrast to the bold living area, the bedroom is a serene sanctuary. Dressed in a sophisticated palette of grey and the softest shade of pink, it exudes a warm, inviting ambiance.
