Hale Huna: Tranquil Rural Retreat in Hawaii
Escape to Hale Huna, a serene rural retreat in Hawaii, designed by Walker Warner. Nestled on the shores of Kiholo Bay, this 2021 creation blends into the landscape with dark metal and open-air design, offering the ultimate tranquil hideaway.
About Hale Huna
Designed by Walker Warner in 2021, Hale Huna is a secluded rural retreat in Hawaii. Located on the serene shore of Kiholo Bay, this hidden gem offers an escape from the everyday hustle.
Exterior Elegance
Hale Huna’s exterior is clad in dark corrugated metal, blending into the landscape while paying homage to Hawaii’s agrarian heritage. The property features two low-slung bungalows with wide openings and deep lanais, framing picturesque views and offering the perfect spot to relax. A leeward-facing lanai, protected from trade winds, is ideal for evening outdoor gatherings. The architecture harmonizes with the striking terrain, featuring black sand beaches, lava rock, and newly planted heliotrope.
Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living
Inside, Hale Huna’s living spaces are designed to capture the cool ocean breeze. The open-plan living area is adorned with natural wood and large windows, allowing for an unobstructed view of the lush surroundings. Comfortable seating areas provide a cozy atmosphere, while the dining space connects seamlessly to the outdoor deck, perfect for alfresco dining.
Unique Open-Air Showers
One of the standout features of Hale Huna is the lack of indoor showers. Instead, guests can enjoy bathing under a canopy of trees and the sky above. The open-air shower stalls, made from teak and concrete, blend with the natural hues of the environment, providing a unique and refreshing experience.
Hale Huna is a testament to resilient architecture, enhancing the beauty of its desolate yet stunning landscape. This rural retreat offers an unparalleled experience of serenity and connection with nature.
