In the heart of Moscow, a modern apartment has been transformed into a harmonious blend of functionality and vibrant art. Designed by the talented architect Ariana Ahmad, this 90 m² apartment in the Russian capital showcases a remarkable balance between sleek modern design and the owners’ passion for contemporary art.

Located in the heart of Moscow, this 970 sq ft (90 m²) apartment is a captivating showcase of contemporary design. Crafted by the talented architect Ariana Ahmad, this remarkable space seamlessly blends art, functionality, and modern elegance.

Thoughtful Reconfiguration for Optimal Livability

The project began with a complete redesign of the layout, starting from the entryway and extending to the living area, dining space, and kitchen. Moreover, the master suite, guest bathroom, and home office were meticulously planned to create a cohesive and highly functional living environment.

Integrating the Outdoors for Enhanced Ambiance

By thoughtfully incorporating the balcony into the living area, the designers have flooded the space with an abundance of natural light, creating a sense of expansiveness and airiness throughout the apartment.

Seamless Blend of Form and Function

Every detail of the apartment was carefully considered to ensure that functional zones and storage spaces were seamlessly integrated into the design. For instance, a custom niche was created to accommodate a 90 cm (35 in) refrigerator in the kitchen, maintaining a sleek and cohesive aesthetic.

Harmonious Color Palette and Material Selection

The owners’ preference for contrasting light and dark tones, complemented by cool shades and blue hues, sets the tone for the apartment’s aesthetic. The use of natural materials, such as wood and Salvatori marble, further enhances the cozy and inviting atmosphere.

Thoughtful Lighting Design for Optimal Ambiance

The interior designer meticulously planned the lighting for each room, considering various usage scenarios. The special lighting in the bathrooms beautifully highlights the expressive texture of the ceramic granite, while the Salvatori marble in the guest bathroom is further elevated by the artfully arranged illumination.

The attention to detail extends to the carefully selected furnishings and decor, which seamlessly complement the overall design aesthetic. The bedroom features the elegant Dudet chair by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina, a minimalist vanity table from Living Divani, and wallpapers made of rapidly renewable abaca fibers. The living room showcases a vibrant polyptych from the “Happiness Pills” series by artist Asya Feoktistova, adding a dynamic focal point to the space.
