Restyling And Redistributing Spaces In A Cozy Apartment
Loto Ad Project has carried out a major restyling and redistribution of the spaces in a small apartment in Rome, in the Villa Fiorelli district. Architect Giorgia Dennerlein has redesigned the interior and outdoor areas of the home with functionality in mind. The south-facing terrace, now covered by an automated KE glass pergola with curtains, becomes an extension of the living room, usable in all seasons and furnished to be as comfortable as an interior space. The living space of the home has effectively doubled in size, giving the apartment a unique charm and a more spacious feel.
Designing All Spaces In A Few Square Meters
Bedroom, free-standing kitchen with dining area, indoor/outdoor living room with kitchen and tropical garden. All enclosed in a few square meters. The masterful use of wood—oak in this case—has made every corner highly functional, creating a bookcase from the side of the kitchen counter with an Orobic marble dining top, an entrance from a wooden cube, and a pass-through from a platform.
Creating Depth With Strategic Mirrors
Mirrored surfaces of various shapes and sizes play a strategic role in directing light and creating depth in all rooms. Natural fabrics and wallpaper create a relaxed mood that envelops and welcomes. Young and fresh, like the owner’s personality. The palette favors shades of green and terracotta, both outside and inside, which characterize the neighborhood due to their widespread use.
Simulating A Glass Wall In The Bedroom
In the bedroom, the wallpaper simulates a glass wall that echoes the theme of connection with the outside, also reflected in the living room by the round MOOOI Extinct Animals rug by artist Ada Sokół. Here, the upholstered furniture is by EDRA and MOROSO, which give the room a sense of comfort thanks to their textures and enveloping fabrics.
Printing EURO Facades On Plexiglas Supports
On the walls, the facades of the EUR buildings captured by photographer Carlo d’Orta and printed on Plexiglas supports offer an original and unusual view of the city.
Creating Warm And Elegant Wall Paneling Outside
Continuing outside, we are greeted by elements typical of an interior. Oak takes the form of warm and elegant wall paneling, which serves as a backdrop to the TALENTI outdoor kitchen. The remaining walls are covered with Wall&decò outdoor wallpaper in shades of gray and beige, which enhances the lush green corner with tropical plants of all kinds arranged in Cassero monoblock pots designed by Patricia Urquiola for Serralunga.
Creating A Green Single-Material Coffee Table
The custom-made sofa is also green, set on a circular ELITIS rug. The single-material Re-verre coffee table is by Gallotti&Radice, while the Clay sculpture table is by DESALTO. CONTARDI’s Calypso floor lamps illuminate and furnish the outdoor living area.
