Embodying Miami’s Vibrant Spirit

Located in Brickell’s financial district—the heart of Miami, Florida—this lower penthouse occupies the 60th floor of one of the region’s most prestigious buildings, Brickell Flatiron. Designed by architects Nicholas Gennari and Roberto Racy, the project reflects the city’s vibrant and cosmopolitan essence, featuring a breathtaking panoramic view of its skyline. The contemporary and minimalist style, spanning 170m², showcases striking lines, curved silhouettes, and a contrast of bold textures with vivid colors.

Inspired by a Lively Client

This residence was designed for a renowned attorney, a passionate enthusiast of electronic music festivals and contemporary pop art, who selected the studio for the duo’s creative vision and international accolades. With a strong personality and a unique perspective, he requested an exclusive renovation for his second home, incorporating Miami’s spirit through tropical nuances with a sophisticated, minimalist, and artistic approach.

Museum-Inspired Spaces

The interior renovation project included the removal of old finishes, such as wallpaper, mirrors, and tiles, reinterpreting the spaces with white-painted walls. This created a museum-inspired atmosphere, enhancing both spaciousness and brightness. Electrical modifications were made to accommodate the new design, along with a newly designed ceiling and lighting system, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic harmony.

Lighting & Art Following Musical Rhythm

The rhythmic principles of electronic music guided the curation of lighting and artwork, featuring abstract pieces centered around movement, color, and neon lights. This resulted in a pulsating environment that mirrors the dynamic nature of music. The vibrant color palette, combined with custom wallpapers and murals with tropical themes, intensifies the visual impact. The use of contrasting colors and iridescent glass surfaces reveals the space’s changing luminosity, influenced by light and motion.

Fluidity in Space

The layout was meticulously planned to ensure fluidity, incorporating low-profile, casual furniture with iconic lines that highlight the space and frame the city’s view. Arranged in a relaxed yet intentional manner, furniture and artwork are distributed within neutral, light-filled environments—akin to an art gallery—allowing each piece to stand out.

Comfortable Signature Furniture in Living Room

In the living room, signature design pieces bring sophistication and comfort, including the modular Camaleonda sofa by Mario Bellini, the Togo sofa by Michel Ducaroy, and the Grande Papilio armchair by Naoto Fukasawa. The space is further enriched by the Shimmer coffee table by Patricia Urquiola and the Noctambule lamp by Konstantin Grcic. The OSO sculpture by Andres Martinez and the Rock Paper Edge rug by Art&Loom, customized for the project, add a unique artistic expression to the environment.

Cozy Atmosphere in Master Bedroom

In the master bedroom, lighting designed by Nar Design Studio, combined with the Vega LED chandelier by Kuzco Lighting, creates a cozy atmosphere. The Flair O’ Chair by Monica Armani and the iconic Snoopy Table Lamp by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni reinforce the home’s contemporary and distinctive style.

Surface Materials Enhance Comfort

The choice of surface materials followed a premise of comfort and aesthetics, in line with the minimalist style. Warm, textured fabrics add a sense of coziness, while indirect lighting—through recessed coves and focal fixtures—creates an intimate ambiance. Soft light, reflected by sconces and floor lamps, enhances the inviting atmosphere and harmonizes with the overall design.
