Brik by Vivijana Zorman
Brik is an 87 m² apartment in Žalec, Slovenia, designed by Vivijana Zorman for a couple. The compact home reads bright and open, with a kitchen island and a double‑sided sofa defining the central living area. Warm brick tones and oak set a calm rhythm, while rounded corners and soft furnishings ease circulation and bring a discreet, contemporary character across rooms.

Daylight pools across oiled-looking oak flooring and climbs the terracotta wall tiles. Rounded furniture loosens the rectilinear shell, turning the main room into a gentle sequence of perches and paths.
This is a compact apartment planned around social living in Žalec. Designed by Vivijana Zorman, the interior leans on a warm palette—brick hue, oak, and light neutrals—to make daily use intuitive and calm. Soft curves do the heavy lifting, steering movement and framing storage without visual noise.
Curves Set Tone
The living room opens with a double‑sided, low‑slung sofa whose rounded modules face both the windows and the TV niche. An arched, brick‑toned surround cradles the screen and a slim oak console, echoing the room’s soft corners while keeping the wall light. Generous glazing pulls city views in, and the pale upholstery catches the sun without glare.
Island As Anchor
At the core, a curved kitchen island acts as meeting point and workstation. White radius panels wrap the ends, while vertical oak slats and a pale counter add tactility and a quiet edge detail. A cylindrical hood hovers above the cooktop, keeping the sightline clean, and two simple stools tuck beneath the overhang for quick meals.
Brick Hue Thread
Cabinet fronts in a muted brick shade run wall to wall, paired with horizontal oak uppers and crisp white tall units. The color reappears on a dining wall clad in slim vertical tiles, giving the round oak table and padded chairs a warm backdrop. One pendant—bulbous and matte—drops a soft pool of light over the table, good for long dinners.
Quiet Private Rooms
In the bedroom, a playful oak headboard bends into night tables and tucks in round reading lights. White wardrobes with circular pulls keep the envelope calm, letting grain and curve do the talking. A spare room turns into a wellness corner with a botanical mural, aerial hammock, and low-sill windows, so stretching lands in daylight.
Measured Details
The bathroom follows the palette with a brick‑toned vanity, white cabinetry, and an oval, backlit mirror that floats above pale tiles. Storage is integrated where it’s needed, not more, so surfaces stay clear and the eye rests. Small moves, strong effect.
Oak underfoot ties every room, while the brick shade threads across joinery, tiles, and accents to keep the apartment unified. As afternoon light slides across the curves, the palette does quiet work—warm, modern, and ready for everyday use.
