About Small Mid-Century Apartment in Vilnius

Light moves easily through the apartment. A sequence of aligned openings, pale walls, and dark wood surfaces gives the compact interior a measured, open rhythm.

Small Mid-Century Apartment in Vilnius is a 35 m² apartment in Vilnius, Lithuania, designed by Irena Oze. Mid-Century ideas are filtered through a contemporary reading, with a focus on legibility, restrained materials, and a plan that keeps one room in sight of the next.

A Clear Linear Plan

The apartment is organized along a straight axis that links kitchen, living, and private zones. That arrangement keeps the circulation simple and gives the rooms a longer visual field, even where the footprint stays tight. An arched doorway at the far end draws the eye forward and deepens the sense of perspective.

Stone, Wood, And White Surfaces

Material contrast does much of the work here. Cool stone appears on the countertop, island, and backsplash, while walnut-toned cabinetry and trim bring warmth and weight to the composition. White walls and ceiling keep the envelope calm, letting the darker bands read as a measured frame rather than heavy enclosure.

Rooms Held In View

The living area, kitchen, and bedroom are not isolated episodes; they are linked by openings, sightlines, and repeated surfaces. In the living room, a low sofa, a rounded table, and a pair of compact chairs sit beneath a globe pendant, while the kitchen extends beside them with bar seating and a flush run of storage. The result is efficient, but not compressed.

Compact Comfort At Night

In the bedroom, the palette narrows to white, wood, and softened textiles. A low bed fits tightly between built-in storage and a window ledge, leaving just enough room for a bedside table and small objects. The restrained setup keeps the room calm and practical, with daylight doing most of the visual work.

Even the bathroom follows that same discipline. Grey stone, dark cabinetry, mirrored surfaces, and a terracotta-tiled shower keep the room compact and distinct, while the materials tie it back to the rest of the apartment. Across the whole interior, the project relies on alignment, contrast, and careful fit to make a small plan feel orderly and open.
