About Delvaux Le 27
A Marvel of Modern Meets Historical Design
Nestled in Boulevard de Waterloo’s luxurious shopping district, “Le 27” stands out not just as a boutique but as a dynamic art gallery. This unique space showcases the Delvaux collections amidst Belgian design masterpieces, including paintings and ceramics. The Italian studio Vudafieri-Saverino Partners, known for crafting Delvaux stores across the globe, brings this vision to life. Their designs, always distinctive and tailored to each location’s essence, have now reached a pinnacle with “Le 27”. Here, Belgian heritage merges with contemporary trends under the guidance of Tiziano Vudafieri and Claudio Saverino.
An Architectural Gem Preserved and Reinvented
Upon entering, visitors step into a grand villa, its original architecture preserved. The two-story layout features 19th-century decor, with walls adorned with mouldings, mirrors, and frescoes. Four-meter-high (about 13 feet) ceilings amplify the space, filled with marble, wood, and wrought iron. The majestic staircase leads to a bright upper floor, lit by an Art Deco skylight. Vudafieri-Saverino Partners have skilfully blended these historic elements with avant-garde interior design, celebrating Belgian modern design culture.
A Fusion of Classic and Contemporary Design
The display settings combine geometric precision with visual tricks, showcasing bags and accessories in a new light. Wall displays pay homage to Mondrian’s De Stijl movement, balancing geometric forms with light-grey vertical bands. Shelves and consoles exhibit minimal, asymmetrical shapes, featuring art-deco materials like marble and polished nickel. This mix creates a harmonious balance between classical and modern aesthetics, reflecting Delvaux’s commitment to elegance and innovation.
A Collection Worthy of a Museum
“Le 27” also serves as a showcase for iconic Belgian design, featuring limited edition pieces by Jules Wabbes, Pieter de Bruyne, Renaat Braem, and Emiel Veranneman, alongside contemporary talents and international figures like Gino Sarfatti. These pieces, alongside a unique collection of Belgian pottery, color the space with Belgium’s rich design legacy. The boutique’s leather goods engage in a dialogue with these historical and contemporary designs, making “Le 27” a true confluence of art and fashion.
A Unique Destination for Discovery
“Le 27” is more than a boutique; it’s a journey through the values and heritage of Delvaux, set against a backdrop of historical and contemporary design. Open to all, it invites visitors to explore its historical, contemporary, and eclectic furnishings, ever-changing with new acquisitions. “Le 27” stands as a testament to originality and uniqueness, a place where art, design, and fashion intersect in continuous evolution.
