About Barn-Style Residence
Stunning Exterior Design
The exterior boasts a cedar board and batten siding, painted grey to harmonize with Douglas fir corbels, posts, and a remarkable heavy timber truss. This truss crowns a 12’ by 24’ (3.7m by 7.3m) covered deck, creating an inviting outdoor space.
Functional First Floor
The first floor provides a practical space, serving as a 1,998 sq. ft. (185.6 sq. m.) RV garage and workshop area. Despite its utilitarian purpose, the design and construction do not compromise on style or quality.
Extraordinary Upstairs Living Space
The upstairs living space breaks away from the ordinary. The open-concept great room, kitchen, and dining area feature tongue and groove ceilings, adding a unique warmth to the contemporary rustic interior. Heavy timber accents on the fireplace and range hood enhance this effect, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
Unique Structural Elements
The space stands out with its exposed structural timbers, including select-grade Douglas fir posts and appearance-grade glulam beams. Black powder-coated connection hardware adds a modern touch to these traditional elements, contributing to the uniqueness of the space.
Modern Style Meets Rustic Charm
Despite its rustic elements, this post and beam residence exudes a modern style. Custom cabinetry and recessed lighting in the great room, along with gridded windows and garage doors, give the home a contemporary feel. Located near the Columbia River, this three-bedroom, three-bathroom home perfectly blends contemporary design with barn-inspired architectural elements.
