About A Brother, A Sister House
A Unique Home with a Purpose
This isn’t just an ordinary house; it’s a unique space designed to bring people together.
Reviving an Old Treasure in the Italian Countryside
The project involves the restoration of an old house nestled in the picturesque countryside near Padua, Italy.
A Gathering Place for Family and Friends
This special space is perfect for cultivating human connections, hosting weekend get-togethers, parties, barbecues, vegetable gardens, and celebrating cherished family memories.
Two Family Units Surrounding a Traditional Space
The design incorporates two family units situated around an exterior area known as the “Aia,” a traditional space that once served as a communal location for farmers’ work and family playtime.
Brutalist Design Meets Privacy and Connection
Both units feature a striking Brutalist design, sharing the communal space while maintaining the privacy each family needs.
Minimalist Interiors for Maximum Impact
The interior of the dwelling is stripped down, preserving the bare structure to create two double-height spaces that exude a sense of openness and grandeur.
