JF Residence by KG Studio
JF Residence anchors a two-level house in São Paulo, Brazil, by KG Studio. Set within a condominium in São José do Rio Preto, the project organizes 600m² (6,458 sq ft) of living across a gently sloped site with an eye toward convivial, day-to-day rhythms. The architecture and interior planning lean on natural materials and a measured plan, creating rooms that gather family life without losing privacy.

A quiet façade holds the street. Beyond, daylight pools across stone, wood, and generous glass, drawing the eye toward a deep garden and the rooms that meet it.
This is a house organized by two long gables and a clear axis. In São José do Rio Preto, KG Studio uses a measured sequence to balance togetherness and retreat, tuning thresholds and views rather than gestures. The plan carries daily life without fuss, and the materials keep it grounded.
On a plot of approximately 700m² (7,535 sq ft), the 600m² (6,458 sq ft) build rides a gentle slope for an easy approach. Two longitudinal, stone-clad gables set the order from the outset, bracing the lower level while supporting a lighter upper volume that rests on the base. Rooms stack cleanly between these flanking walls, so circulation reads straight and calm.
Set The Axis
The ground floor follows the gables like rails. One side concentrates the kitchen, laundry, and a well-appointed gourmet zone; the other assembles living and social rooms that open to the veranda. Continuous white cabinetry masks doors to support areas, smoothing the route and trimming visual noise. Movement feels natural, with long sightlines linking entry, lounge, and garden.
Calibrate Privacy
Streetward, opaque panels ground the lower façade while wooden brises temper the upper level. Garden-side, large glass frames dissolve edges and pull the landscape into daily routines. Bedrooms above face greenery yet sit behind operable screens for shade and control: a simple device that protects quiet hours and softens light. It’s a clear, legible envelope tuned to use.
Thread Social Rooms
A custom, full-length furniture element runs from entry to veranda. It gathers the TV area, niches, storage, and a sideboard into one organizing spine that steadies the living rooms. The arrangement keeps clutter at bay, leaving room for movement and conversation. Pieces by national and international makers punctuate the set without breaking rhythm.
Stair, Light, Garden
At the heart, a stair hovers over an internal garden and meets a double-height opening above. Wooden treads lodge into the wall, giving a measured sense of lift and pause. A zenithal cut washes the landing with daylight and splashes into the living room below—air moves cleanly, and the route upstairs feels bright. Walnut cabinetry appears in headboards and sideboards, adding depth to the quiet palette.
Open To Climate
Landscaping wraps the perimeter with ground beds and planters on upper verandas. Hanging foliage softens edges while large openings invite cross-ventilation for fresh, temperate rooms. Wood and stone carry tactile warmth through daily use, and the glass lines bring sky and garden into view. It’s easy to linger.
By the garden, the house loosens and breathes. Light arcs across stone and wood as the day turns, and the plan keeps pace with gathering and quiet alike. The structure holds steady while life moves through.
