Genesee by Siol

Genesee sits in Los Angeles, CA, United States, a house by Siol that reframes the familiar Southern California hacienda. The studio leans into a generous interior palette and a clean geometry of arches, tying living rooms to breezy terraces and a long pool. Color and texture carry the story. Light does the rest.

A bright pool draws the eye toward a crisp white volume and a shaded porch. Inside, sunlight washes across dark boards and finds the repeating rhythm of arched windows.

This is a house in Los Angeles by Siol, designed in 2018 within the SoCal hacienda lineage yet tuned to contemporary living. The throughline plays out in color, texture, and light—an interior palette that sets the mood from foyer to terrace and back again.

Shape Light Indoors

Arched windows gather in diptychs and triptychs, giving rooms a clear cadence and soft edges. A skylit living room deepens the effect, with black ceiling beams cutting thin shadows across white planes and amplifying the height.

Color Blocks Anchor

Against dark-stained floors, a teal sofa sets a confident tone while a translucent coffee table frames chunky mineral forms. The composition reads calm and tactile, and a graphic black rug and low chair keep the seating zone grounded without clutter.

Tactile Kitchen Brass

In the kitchen, deep green cabinetry meets a brass island and backsplash designed to scuff with use. Patterned tile at the range adds a subtle shimmer, and a spare light fixture traces a clean line above the worktop, letting the materials do the talking.

Curves and Comfort

A blush banquette hugs a breakfast nook under an easy arch, its soft radius echoing window heads nearby. The bathroom repeats the warmth with hand-painted terra cotta tiles and a light wood vanity set on turned legs, a nod to historic craft.

Porch To Pool

Outdoors, a white-beamed porch extends living into the garden with ceiling fans, skylights, and patterned flooring underfoot. A marble-topped dining table sits near a textured blue wall, while built-in seating and potted yuccas cue an easy afternoon by the water.

Gauzy blush curtains temper the bedroom sun at midday and cool the room by evening. As day fades, skylights over the deck carry the house’s glow outward, and the pool returns a quiet shimmer back to the rooms.
