Welcome to Luzzatti Home – a modern industrial house located in Cuneo, Italy, designed by Balance Architettura in 2021.
This house is a part of the Italian typology called “dei Ferrovieri” from 1921 and it is preserved and bound property by the Committee of Architectural Heritage. The main focus was on maintaining the internal spirit of the time, preserving the authentic wooden beams and the un-finished finishings to maintain the historic memory of the house. The dark coloring, sheet metal staircase and birch furniture and outfitting merge with the rest of the building and create an authentic and hospitable feel.
Introducing Chalet_A, an exquisitely renovated 3-seasons beach house located in Estrie, Canada near Montréal. Originally an A-frame cottage built in the 1950s, Matière Première Architecture and its construction company, Nu Drom, were tasked with bringing this historic structure into the 21st century.
Described as a cozy, intimate experience, the design embraces lighter tones of white and sage, along with casual furnishings, to create a relaxed atmosphere. Local, sustainable materials were used to promote controlled aging of the cabin, while an ecological approach was taken to protect the natural landscape.
Tucked away in the picturesque Valle de Bravo, Mexico, Casa Tres Árboles (Tres Arboles) is a weekend house that has been redesigned and remodeled in 2021 by the renowned design firm dıreccıon.
The client’s main directive was to give the 25 year old house a refreshed style and updated finishes, while still preserving its cozy weekend getaway feel. The transformation was no small feat – the unleveled terrain with pronounced slope presented a great challenge – but the end result is a beautiful sanctuary of repose, meditation and balance. The house features a double height foyer, open living and dining spaces, outdoor porch with a custom-made stone fire pit, and a serene kitchen and bathrooms. The materials used have a warm and natural feel, and the color palette creates a sense of refuge and retreat.
Introducing the Penthouse in Barcelona, Spain, designed by Nomo Studio! This modern penthouse apartment has been completely redistributed and adapted to a contemporary open plan lifestyle.
Its design is a combination of classic elegance and modern approach. Its main elements such as the custom designed pivot elements, high bar countertop, extra-large marble center tables, hovering fireplace, and mirrors create a sequence of interrelated atmospheres. To bring in one of the marble tables, the façade was unmounted. The master bedroom is structured only by detached wardrobes and sliding partitions. The apartment is splashed with bright bold colored elements and natural materials such as oak and teak pavements, marble and granite countertops, and ceramic coverings. All furniture such as closets, low tables, and working desks were custom designed. The kitchen, flooded with natural light, has become a place for dining, reading, socializing, or working.
This Barcelona penthouse is the perfect example of an urban aesthetic in tune with the clients’ personality.
La Escocesa is a modern guest house located on 25 de Mayo, Argentina and designed by Dub I Diseño & Sustentabilidad in 2022.
Situated in the flat plains of the ‘Pampas’ in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, this house was built to be flexible and to support a family home. The house consists of four modules: a large kitchen/dining room; a two-bedroom module; a split-bathroom module; and a large multi-purpose space in the attic. Low or no maintenance materials were chosen for the building envelope, as well as environmental design strategies to require very little air conditioning throughout the year. The central patio serves as the nucleus of union of all the parts of the house, providing an outdoor distribution hall and a space for meeting and contemplation of the surrounding landscape.
