The renovation celebrates the building heritage by preserving the original partitions while introducing a hyper-contemporary element with a functional box containing the kitchen and services, creating a dynamic and contrasting environment.
Originally established in 1903 as a McMurties Shoe Factory, this 2023 Sydney apartment design by Studio Noakes retained its industrial heritage with high ceilings and hardwood beams. Designer DAT Studio aims to enhance the family interaction to be more cohesive and relaxed through the creation of central communal living spaces which conform to the traditional Vietnamese domestic culture that is gradually diminishing in modern lifestyles.
Located in New York, NY, United States, the Greenwich Village Pied-à-Terre is a 1,400-square-foot apartment designed by Andrew Franz Architect in 2024. Designed to reflect the client’s chic personal style, the project features abundant curves and texture, with scalloped walls and venetian plaster defining functional areas. The renovation opens the residence to multiple views and plentiful natural light.
