The space offers a functional program requested by the clients, including a large living room, an eat-in kitchen, two large bedrooms (one of which has a walk-in closet and bathroom), Carrara marble flooring, oak planking wood, and two lacquered wood storage elements. The master bedroom features a wooden volume that contains a large walk-in closet. Through the use of noble materials such as wood and stone, tailored spaces have been created that characterize the rooms of the house.

Its unique location, on a compact former quarry, with a steep rock escarpment defining almost two edges of the buildable area, inspired a vertical outcome that maximizes access to the district and coastal views. The plan-efficient new home includes three levels, with an entry + living zone on the ground floor, bedrooms on the first floor, and an additional level above that with stunning views of the city. This house is a part of the Italian typology called “dei Ferrovieri” from 1921 and it is preserved and bound property by the Committee of Architectural Heritage. The main focus was on maintaining the internal spirit of the time, preserving the authentic wooden beams and the un-finished finishings to maintain the historic memory of the house. The dark coloring, sheet metal staircase and birch furniture and outfitting merge with the rest of the building and create an authentic and hospitable feel.

Its design is a combination of classic elegance and modern approach. Its main elements such as the custom designed pivot elements, high bar countertop, extra-large marble center tables, hovering fireplace, and mirrors create a sequence of interrelated atmospheres. To bring in one of the marble tables, the façade was unmounted. The master bedroom is structured only by detached wardrobes and sliding partitions. The apartment is splashed with bright bold colored elements and natural materials such as oak and teak pavements, marble and granite countertops, and ceramic coverings. All furniture such as closets, low tables, and working desks were custom designed. The kitchen, flooded with natural light, has become a place for dining, reading, socializing, or working.

La Escocesa is a modern guest house located on 25 de Mayo, Argentina and designed by Dub I Diseño & Sustentabilidad in 2022.
Situated in the flat plains of the ‘Pampas’ in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, this house was built to be flexible and to support a family home. The house consists of four modules: a large kitchen/dining room; a two-bedroom module; a split-bathroom module; and a large multi-purpose space in the attic. Low or no maintenance materials were chosen for the building envelope, as well as environmental design strategies to require very little air conditioning throughout the year. The central patio serves as the nucleus of union of all the parts of the house, providing an outdoor distribution hall and a space for meeting and contemplation of the surrounding landscape.
Introducing The Mill House, a stunning fusion of traditional and modern design located in the charming village of Attard, Malta. Designed by Valentino Architects in 2022, this house seamlessly connects a cluster of Grade I and II Listed buildings, including a mill room dating back to the mid-to-late 16th century.
The design centers around an outdoor courtyard that serves as a connecting agent, allowing the separate living spaces to communicate with each other and the sun-soaked hearth of the home. A glazed walkway serves as a reflective layer of contrast between old and new, forming a lustrous perimeter along two internal facades. The walkway’s opacity changes throughout the day, creating different effects and views of the surrounding village. On the ground level, the dining and living areas look out to the courtyard, while tall cabinets punctuate the space, resembling minimalist boulders that double as doorways to tangential rooms.
