Located on the outskirts of the township of Wanaka, Sundance Rise house has a rural aspect that encouraged an open design, allowing in as much of the view as possible while still shielding the interiors from harsh elements. Designed by Condon Scott Architects, this house features walls and ceilings lined in birch ply, creating a warm interior, while the majority of the exterior showcases local schist stone, Corten steel, and timber weatherboards.
Designed by Barry Condon of Condon Scott Architects, Ruby Ridge House is situated on a challenging, wedge-shaped site that borders two suburban streets. With a simple, mono-pitched roof and curve-edged, cedar-clad walls, the dynamic design directs the observer’s view towards the alpine panorama ahead, allowing the homeowners to enjoy their space without the sense of being overlooked.
