About Apartment Redesign
Revitalizing an Old Apartment with a View
In this project, we transformed an old apartment with complex layouts into a space with stunning views. Initially, the apartment’s design completely shut out the landscape. Consequently, our primary goal was to open it up to the outside world. This change allowed the Mediterranean Sea and Montgó Mountain to visually flow into the space, creating a sense of openness for the residents.
Harmonizing Interior with Landscape
The apartment’s location, facing both the sea and a mountain, significantly influenced our renovation approach. We aimed to create an ambiance in harmony with the surroundings. Essentially, we merged the interior with the landscape. This strategy enhanced the feeling of spaciousness in the apartment.
Reimagining Spaces
Given that this was a renovation, we started with a predefined layout. However, we completely revamped the original design to create two distinct areas – the daytime and nighttime zones. Although separate, these zones maintain a visual connection. We achieved this integration by using glass doors. These doors not only distinguish each area but also preserve the spatial continuity.
Natural Materials for a Seamless Transition
We opted for natural materials and neutral colors, focusing attention on the landscape. This choice minimized the contrast between the interior and exterior, further blending the apartment with its surroundings.
Ultimately, our renovation transformed an apartment that was once closed off from its picturesque surroundings. Now, it invites the essence of the Mediterranean and Montgó Mountain right through its windows.
