About Far West Residence
Revitalizing a Midcentury Modern Brick Ranch
Constructed in 1968, this brick ranch held sway over numerous design choices during its midcentury modern revival. Moreover, the kitchen, now expanded, embraces a peninsula and counter-height dining area.
Boosting Natural Light with Structural Changes
Dismantling a wall between the front sitting room and the pre-existing living room poured more sunlight into the interior. This luminosity prevailed, even with the original window dimensions untouched.
Harnessing the Power of Original Brickwork
Artists repurposed the original brick, generating a textural contrast against the spotless walls. Consequently, these walls function as a gallery space, proudly displaying artwork.
Single-Level Layout Fosters Age-in-Place Enhancements
The single-level layout lays the groundwork for age-in-place enhancements, marrying structure with aesthetics. Additionally, the bedroom’s lighting received an upgrade, and fresh drywall was installed.
Improved Accessibility in Midcentury Modern Design
Bathroom renovations not only made the space more accessible but also preserved the vibrant, inviting aura of midcentury modern design.
