About Toledo Apartment
Historic Heart of Naples
Nestled in the historic center of Naples, specifically in the Spirito Santo district, this apartment elegantly sits where the University and church meet. Remarkably, this spot still hosts architecture lessons.
A Journey Through Time
This apartment tells a rich story, having gracefully transitioned through various urban epochs. Multiple architectural modifications over the decades have given it a unique identity. Most notably, its terrace offers an unparalleled charm. From this vantage point, viewers can admire the Church’s grand dome, all while the tower’s timeless clock steadily ticks away. Additionally, the protective hill of San Martino looms in the distance, offering a serene backdrop.
Inside, one is instantly transported through both monumental and introspective facets of Naples. Impressively, the home provides a silent observation post to one of the city’s most bustling avenues. Interestingly, its original entrance was once located on the entirely opposite end.
Elevated Interiors Meet Sustainable Design
Boasting ceilings of nearly 6 meters (about 20 feet), the owners carved out expansive spaces dedicated to their vast book collections. Tailored to their reading habits, these areas also feature cozy study nooks.
For insulation, the decision leaned towards hemp, a sustainable choice. Paired with lime plaster, this ensures the apartment breathes effortlessly. Furthermore, leaving the walls in their natural state, coupled with the introduction of natural oak floorboards, creates an atmosphere of both warmth and elegance.
The thoughtfully designed interiors interconnect spaces across several levels, showcasing architectural prowess. Pops of vibrant colors selectively emphasize the stairs, adding a dynamic twist. Notably, artworks by Nicolas Denino and the duo Adinolfi and Cicala enhance the ambiance.
Concluding the tour, the redesigned entrance staircase stands as a testament to innovative design. This modern, winding marvel starkly contrasts its former design, setting a tone of uniqueness right from the outset.
