Office Crahayjamaigne Merges with Belgian Nature
Office Crahayjamaigne designed an office in Malmedy, Belgium, that seamlessly merges into its natural surroundings. The structure, completed in 2022, features a “free” form, blending the building into the landscape with minimal visual impact. Interior spaces offer panoramic views, promoting well-being and collaboration within this serene environment.
The project is designed to have a limited presence despite a significant program, thanks to its integration both vertically into the ground and horizontally into the hillside. Gray wood cladding further blends the building into the natural landscape, complemented by green roofs.
Interior design
The interior office spaces are organized to gradually transition from reception and meeting areas to work spaces. A space dedicated to team meetings, breaks, and various activities overlooks the work area and opens fully to the hillside, enhancing a green forest path that is physical and visual. This progression distributes spaces suited to the various functions, while maintaining constant contact with nature outside through large windows.

Focus on well-being and interaction
A multifunctional space at the center of the project connects the outdoors with the work spaces, encouraging interaction and exchange. The office emphasizes symbiosis with nature, well-being, creativity, collaboration and team spirit. This philosophy is exemplified by the future presence of sheep and bees, charged with maintaining the flowering lawn and pollination.
Overall, the Office crahayjamaigne is a serene retreat designed to promote awareness and community. Its efficient layout and placement in the landscape foster an atmosphere of harmony and collaboration, providing a peaceful work space for its occupants.
