Cabins Kravák: A Modular Retreat Planned for Efficient Living
Cabins Kravák is a house project in Znojmo, Czechia, designed by Studio MA s.r.o. and conceived as a series of modular cabins set in close dialogue with the landscape. Designed in 2025, the project centers on compact living, using flexible layouts, integrated storage, large glazing, and a restrained material palette to make small interiors feel practical, calm, and closely connected to the outdoors.

About Cabins Kravák
Modular Cabins in Harmony with Nature
The project presents a series of modular cabins conceived as compact, highly efficient living units that balance functional planning, honest materials, and a strong relationship with the landscape.
Efficient Use of Space
Each cabin is organized around spatial efficiency and intuitive daily use. The modular floor plan allows for flexible interior arrangements, while foldable elements and integrated storage expand the usable area without adding visual clutter. The layout supports easy movement between zones, ensuring that every square meter contributes to comfort and practicality.
Materials and Aesthetics
The architectural expression is shaped by a combination of natural and industrial materials. Timber surfaces bring warmth and texture, set against precise metal detailing that reinforces the cabins’ minimalist character. Clean lines, a subdued color palette, and natural finishes give the interiors an atmosphere that feels calm, direct, and authentic.
Technology and Energy Efficiency
Sustainability plays a central role in the project. The cabins incorporate low-energy LED lighting, smart climate control, and optional photovoltaic panels that support energy independence. High-performance insulation and the careful orientation of building elements help maximize passive solar gain, maintaining indoor comfort with minimal operational demand.
Relationship with the Surroundings
A defining element of each cabin is the large-format glazing, which frames the surrounding landscape as a constant visual presence. Outdoor terraces and sheltered exterior areas extend the interior outward and strengthen that connection. The result is a clear transition between inside and outside, encouraging a calm and immersive experience of the environment.
