Concord House is a contemporary concrete residence located in Concord, Australia, designed by Studio Benicio.

About Concord House
Concord House, designed by Studio Benicio in 2016, stands as a bold statement in Concord, a suburb of Sydney. This contemporary four-bedroom house, built almost entirely from concrete, replaces an existing red brick cottage, showcasing the owners’ deep appreciation for concrete.
Exterior Elegance: A Concrete Marvel
The exterior of Concord House captivates with its contemporary concrete design. The facade, combining concrete with white ALUCOBOND®, presents a crisp, modern look. This choice of materials ensures low maintenance and a clean aesthetic. A retractable glass roof over the outdoor area provides flexibility, allowing light into the space and enabling year-round use.
Interior Sophistication: Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living
Stepping inside, the seamless transition from exterior to interior is evident. The design cleverly integrates an indoor-outdoor living space, enhancing the home’s functionality on a modest site. The walnut kitchen features a striking black box element, adding a unique focal point. Black bi-fold doors open out to the grassed rear yard, blending the interior with the outdoor environment.
The mix of materials throughout the interior—concrete, walnut, and black accents—provides a cutting-edge design while maintaining a cozy atmosphere. This design approach not only meets the clients’ brief but also ensures compliance with building regulations, creating a contemporary and comfortable family home.
Concord House by Studio Benicio exemplifies modern architecture’s potential to blend form and function seamlessly, making a bold, lasting impression in its suburban setting.
