Elegant and Timeless Design for a Modern Businessman
A young English businessman, newly settled in Brazil, desired a design that was masculine, sophisticated, and timeless. He was a fan of our work, which inspired this unique project.
We began with a solid base: a 332-square-meter (about 3,573 square feet) apartment provided by a construction company. Our task was to tweak the layout to enhance space fluidity and integration.
Creating Warm, Inviting Spaces
The apartment’s design focuses on hosting and warmth. We avoided small, isolated areas, favoring open, multi-use spaces instead. These areas are versatile, perfect for different events and gatherings.
To add personality and a masculine touch, we used a special feature. A black wooden panel, our own design, resembles industrial metal sidings. This element, with its sliding and pivoting doors, surrounds the entrance hall. It creates a striking contrast with the apartment’s gray tones.
Embracing Brazilian Design Elements
For decoration, we took an unconventional approach. Rather than using well-known international brands, we highlighted Brazilian furniture and design. This included pieces from Zanine Caldas, Sergio Rodrigues, Jader Almeida, Ronald Sasson, Gustavo Bittencourt, and Mula Preta. The result is a unique and worldly design that steps away from typical regional styles.
In this project, Diego Revollo’s quest for beauty is evident. By focusing on Brazilian design, the apartment achieves originality and appeal, showcasing the beauty of local craftsmanship.
