Discovering Pacific Northwest Charm
Nestled in downtown Seattle, this condo truly embodies the Pacific Northwest. Initially, an old apartment underwent a makeover, seamlessly transforming it into a warm, inviting space for an Alaska-based bachelor. In crafting the new design, the integration of woods, stone, and woven finishes took center stage. Moreover, art and decor thoughtfully echo the region’s iconic style. All of this harmoniously complements breathtaking views of Seattle. So, what’s the outcome? A welcoming home with a rich, historical touch.
Optimizing Openness and Light
Undoubtedly, the condo’s prime asset is its panoramic coastal and city views. With this in mind, the overarching goal was to create a flexible, open space tailored for relaxed dining and leisure. To achieve this, designers employed varied woods, ensuring each space felt distinct yet connected. Previously hindered by an outdated 1980s layout, the space felt confined and lacked the vibrant views. However, after the redesign, sunlight now generously fills the space, making it bright and airy. Moreover, the inclusion of fumed oak and steel provides a cohesive touch throughout.
Blending the Timeless with the Modern
Venturing into the den, you’ll find a notable contrast: a rich, dark ceiling juxtaposed against lighter, earthy tables. Vintage leather furniture exudes warmth, and, additionally, a textured rug brings an extra layer of coziness. Impressively, the shared spaces strike a balance between modern flair and classic elegance. Notably, cherished pieces like the Japanese and mid-century items find their rightful place. Also, the integration of tribal designs and natural fabrics pays homage to the owner’s background.
Elevating Essential Spaces
In the master bath, a spa-like ambiance prevails, thanks to the pristine Carrera tiles. By rethinking the space, it now boasts a functional dressing area and a spacious shower. On the other hand, the guest bath is cleverly designed for simultaneous use, making morning routines a breeze. Plus, the transformed closet offers ample storage for linens and essentials.
For the main living areas, a fresh, modern vibe dominates. Here, cool and rustic elements mingle effortlessly. Vibrant colors pop, yet the majestic view remains the heart of the room. Specifically, in the kitchen, light woods and soft grays take the lead. And, importantly, the presence of dropped ceilings with dark boards adds depth, while white details brighten the space. Lastly, a quaint terrace beckons residents to embrace the outdoors.
