About Goizco Farmhouse
The Timeless Elegance of Goizko Farmhouse
Boasting a rich 150-year history, the 750-square-metre (8,073 square feet) Goizko farmhouse stands proudly in the lush Oma Valley, a jewel of the Urdabai biosphere reserve.
Blending History with Contemporary Refinement
Bilbao’s Architecture Team studio took the reins in refurbishing this gem. Throughout the process, they meticulously preserved the original stone structure, enhancing it with ceramic wood from renowned brands: Porcelanosa and Venis.
Historically recognized as Urdabai’s heritage, the Goizko farmhouse, also known as Omagoieaskoa house, embodies the traditional Baserris, the iconic country houses of the Basque Country.
In bygone eras, these grand homes housed farming and ranching families. Today, while their functions may have evolved, their foundational essence remains unchanged.
Revitalizing with State-of-the-Art Materials
Spread across three floors, the farmhouse received a modern touch with materials sourced from PORCELANOSA Grupo. The Bilbao Architecture Team seamlessly integrated the original stone and oak, lightening the ambiance with the PAR-KERTM Oxford Acero ceramic parquet by Porcelanosa and floor tiles by Venis.
The selected Venis materials, characterized by a subtle grey hue and rustic charm, seamlessly tie the ground floor aesthetics with the rooms above. With the sustainable nature of PAR-KER and the warmth it exudes, the farmhouse exuberates a “country haven” ambiance, all while maintaining its sturdy foundational walls.
