About Family House
Discovering the Charm of Old Jinonice
A quaint narrow street in old Jinonice unfolds to reveal a picturesque square with a well. Here, an abandoned house once stood, its various additions overshadowing the original structure. This cluster of dilapidated buildings, nestled in a sloping garden, awaited transformation.
Bridging the Past with the Present
In the redesign, only the stone-built ancient section facing the street remains. Now, it gracefully serves as the entrance to the expansive living areas housed within two modern additions. Intriguingly, the loftiest section becomes a sanctuary for the children. Moreover, all living spaces, including the children’s bedrooms, bask in sunlight and connect seamlessly with the garden. And, while the house’s silhouette shields the garden from the street, it allows for the sun to drench it in warmth.
Harmonizing Design Elements
Both the old and new segments marry effortlessly, thanks to the consistent stucco plaster hue and beaver tail ceramic roof tiles. Yet, subtle details playfully hint at the age of each section, juxtaposing the preserved heritage with contemporary minimalism.
